    I just realized that anyone can build his own .tar.gz archive by using Ant: $ svn co https://exist.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/exist/releases/eXist-1.2 $ cd eXist-1.2 $ ant dist.dist-tgz Hence, I realize my feature request is indeed not so relevant. I would prefer to be able to download the tgz directly from SourceForge but I can setup my own download page anyway. Thanks for your...

  • Provide standard TAR.GZ and ZIP binary releases links

    From a developer's point of view, it is sometimes preferable to use a standard tar.gz or zip archive to deploy a given application. I would really appreciate being able to deploy eXist just as any other application, by downloading an archive and using standard tools to unpack it (i.e. no IzPack).
