The other thing you might try is 2009.3. I don't think there should be a difference that affects market creation, but that release has significant new code that's going to be the basis for all future development.

It works for me under OS X. I don't know why there would be a difference.
If you can see the createMarket page, then you've authenticated correctly as admin. Presumably when you look at the ViewAccount or AllMarkets pages, you see that you have money in your account.
Can you attach the log file? Look in the logs directory and upload the most recent file matching ZocaloServer-???.log.

I've just uploaded a new release that replaces virtually all arithmetic with numbers using Java's BigDecimal. This fixes a source of bugs that has bitten us numerous times. The doubles that we used to rely on don't exactly represent the decimal numbers that users type in, so it always looked like trades were done for amounts slightly different than users requested.
