The FMA has separate terms for "Eye" (synonym: Orbital part of face) and "Eyeball" (definition: Organ ... connected to the optic nerve). (See attached pdf.) We have not made this distinction in the MA. Currently, it appears that most GO terms containing "eye" refer to what the FMA calls the "eyeball" (although this term is not commonly used). I have not made a comprehensive effort to represent left and right structures, although I thought I had covered most of the major organs (e.g. kidney, lung, overy, testis) where this is the case. I agree that is would be useful for the right and left eyes to be represented in the MA.

I am currently in the process of working on this set of terms. I will be attaching supporting documents as appropriate, and adding terms as indicated. However, unless necessary, I plan to wait until I have completed work on this group of terms before I post a summary for the set.

MA:0000057 -- primary term name has been changed to "brown adipose tissue," with synonym: "brown fat."
MA:0000058 -- primary term name has been changed to "white adipose tissue," with synonym: "white fat."
Both have been changed to 'is-a' children of "adipose tissue."
Also, MA:0000009 = "adipose tissue" has been merged with MA:0000056 = "fat" (secondary id and synonym).
