Hi,
here's in the thing: we are currently on our way to redesign the whole game from the ground up. The sources on the SVN **are** buildable (this is one of our requirements), but they don't represent the complete game yet.
On the CVS, you'll find the sources for the game, but they are now considered legacy, and we won't work on those anymore.
So, it's quite the opposite of what you said...

Hello,
as I've already written, a new version is on its way, and it's a complete rewrite of the previous one - which was too buggy, as you may have seen :P
So, best thing you can do is to keep tight, and hold on 'till the next release!

Hi,
There is a help documentation, available in the file doc/user_guide_en.html in your installation directory.
Basically, here are the hotkeys regarding the camera:
* Arrows and moving the mouse to an edge : move the camera.
* ALT + mouse movement : rotate.
* P / L or mouse wheel : zoom in/out.
The file also describes other hotkeys.
