Having a similar problem. I have a Mac, running OSX 10.5.7, OpenOffice.org 3.1.0 and MacTex.
When trying to install OOoLatex, I get a box asking for the locations of latex and gs. Found them using the 'locate' command in the terminal
latex directory: /usr/local/texlive/texmf-local/tex/
gs directory: /usr/local/bin
