  • Followup: RE: headsetd and skype

Count me in, here's another one with the same issue. I can only use skype with the headset if I use djart's default device hack, which is not the best solution. However, I also have another problem: sound output is very low, I can barely hear it. I've set the volume to 100 with "alsamixer -Dheadset", but that didn't seem to change anything. Do you guys get decent output volume...

  • Followup: RE: Encryption and the new traffic shaping

Indeed tunnelling the traffic thru the vpn did the trick. This SecureIX vpn is too unstable at the moment, but probably a paid version would be much better. I will try to find some options, though I'm not sure what the price ranges are too. Thanks for the tip, dzepp! I'm still wondering why the proxied connections were ok while direct communications aren't. Does anyone have a fair...

  • Followup: RE: Encryption and the new traffic shaping

Digging up my own really old topic, I'd like to ask for some other information. I just did some tests with a single peer (my office computer and my home computer, both Azureus, RC4 encrypted) on a torrent I created for this purpose and I can't get the upload or download speeds I get while doing a FTP transfer between the same hosts, for example. So, I decided to try proxying my peer...

  • Comment: Can't refresh album list

Yes, you nailed it. I removed all special characters from all album's names and then I was able to refresh the album list properly. Do you have a fix for this? Thanks.

  • Can't refresh album list

Using koppermine-1.1, compiled from sources using Gentoo ebuild. My settings and the error after trying to refresh the album list are available on the attached image. KDE: 3.5.5 Coppermine: 1.4.9 API: v0.4 $ emerge --info Portage 2.1.1-r2 (default-linux/x86/2006.1/desktop, gcc-4.1.1, glibc-2.4-r4, 2.6.19-suspend2-r1 i686) Thanks.

  • Encryption and the new traffic shaping

Hi all, I've been an Azureus user for a long time now and never had any speed problems, but lately I can't get speeds over 10kb/s, download or upload, on a 2100/600 line, on a WinXP SP2 box. My HTTP, FTP or even Pando speeds are normal as they should be. (For those who don't know, Pando is another kind of P2P app, based on the BitTorrent protocol, which is more like a substitute for emailing...

  • Followup: RE: [Feat Req] Select range for outgoing port

    > No, it _should_ work on linux too (in case you have a current java version), you just can't bind the source port to the listening port... Ahhh I see, I didn't understand the text in the wiki correctly. I'm going to try that, thanks the8472. One last doubt, regarding "full cone nat routers": how do I know if my router is one of those? As stated above, it's a Linksys WRT54GL...

  • Followup: RE: [Feat Req] Select range for outgoing port

Yes, I've seen the TOS flag, but my home router (Linksys WRT54GL running DD-WRT) doesn't make any special treatment to that. Or at least I failed to find a way to QoS based on TOS using the firmware's web interface.

  • [Feat Req] Select range for outgoing ports

Hi all, My home router has QoS capabilities and I want to put low priority on BT traffic, leaving available bandwidth when needed for the rest of my internet activity (VoIP more specifically). The problem is, L7 protocol shaping is no longer effective on detecting BT traffic since almost all my connections are now encrypted. So, I need to QoS based on port, which is fine for incoming...
