GNOME packages in Cygwin official release
and perhaps this project would be terminated
As you guys following the cygwin-app mailing list might have already noticed, GNOME was proposed to be added into cygwin official release, and now there're already some libraries released, including glib-2.4/gtk+-2.4 (and esound, audiofile, pango, atk, libIDL etc...

Hi,
I've uploaded gedit-2.4.1 for test.
gedit is a text editor which supports most standard editor features,
extending this basic functionality with other features not usually
found in simple text editors. gedit is a graphical application which
supports editing multiple text files in one window (known sometimes as
tabs or MDI).

Hi, all friends
I've updated gtk2 to latest upstream release 2.4.3.
This time I've made gtk private symbols (those started with an '_') also exported, so that some applications could builds successfully.
Refer README in gtk2 source and the following for detail:

Hi, all friends
I made a update to cygnome-1.4 package repository. Perhaps this update
perhaps is the final one. As we're heading to GNOME2, it seems that
there's nothing more we want to do with it.
This time there isn't too many new package release(except gvim-6.2 and
a little change to startgnome). I just re-uploaded some packages to the
installation repository...

Hi, guys
Another three GNOME libraries, librsvg-2.4.0, gail-1.4.1 and eel-2.4.2 now available for test.
And libgsf-1.7.2 also available. librsvg depends on it for run-time decompression.
But CSS parsing support of librsvg not enabled as it requires libcroco, which not ported yet.

When GNOME 2.4 came out, I made a try for GTK+-2.2.4 on Cygwin-1.3 + XFree86 4.2 and got a success (and I built XFCE4 rc3 on it, which looks cool)
To get the beautiful look and feel, you need to build fontconfig and xft2 by yourself.
After that, you can use the old patches. Only a few modifications are needed.
I don't know whether there is anybody interested in this. If yes, maybe I'll try...

Hi, all!
Now gtk+-2.2.1 (together with glib-2.2.1, atk-1.2.2, pango-1.2.1,
and two applications gaim-0.64 and gftp-2.0.14) are uploaded for test.
Read this README file to detail info.
You can download it directly from http://cygnome2.sourceforge.net/install.
Note that XFree86 4.3.0 is needed, as it comes with fontconfig and libxft2.
(If you are still using XFree86 4.2.x and have...
