What's happening?

David, This is definitely an Id10t error on my part. I still don't know exactly what I did, but when I installed the LOGO program onto a flash drive and ran it on a different computer, lo - the editor worked fine. At least you can take satisfaction with having educated me on use of the workspace and sharing the tutorial. Best regards, Larry.

David, The executable I'm referring to is this Source Forge download: fmslogo-6.24.0 It's true that I was unclear on how to use the workspace, and you have given me lots of good advice. In fact I went back and cleaned up all the code I had written to get rid of the 'grab bag' that was coming up every time I ran a *new* instance of LOGO. Below you'll find a little bit of what was in the...

David, You are correct, sir. I fixed this by running erall at the commander, opening the editor and saving the now blank editor to the workspace. Now when I open LOGO and use any FILE command I get a clean editor. I did try to reinstall earlier and ended up with the same problem. Is it possible that this 'grab bag' (which I saved to notepad for future reference) of code was in the workspace...

Thanks, but I still don't think you all understand the problem. I get this when I use OPEN, when I use EDALL, and when I use LOAD. It happens immediately after opening LOGO when I've done zero editing. Please see the screen shot attached.

David, Thanks for responding, but I've not made myself understood. I know that this has nothing to do with LOAD, but when I do LOAD, the editor comes up with this junk in it. That happens when I LOAD my own programs, which don't have the code you mention. It also happens when I LOAD LOGO example programs. I think this is probably just an oversight from when the program was released. It's...

  • Editor behavior using the Load command

Hello, After downloading the executable (wasn't able to get the .zip) and installing, I observe the following: When executing a load command (from menu OR commander), I get a message box titled Welcome and this text: Choose Yes to run example now, choose no to study it. Buttons are Yes, No and Cancel. Anything but Cancel brings up the Editor with a grab-bag of code examples. Closing...
