FYI, i8 is not part of the xml-rpc standard - it might be getting more and more widespread, but I fear there might be discord over its implementation (eg. http://ws.apache.org/xmlrpc/types.html lists a different tag: ex:i8).
This means I will try to implement this feature, but with a lower priority than bugs

A somewhat unrelated lib: 'plsqlxmlrpc' - https://sourceforge.net/projects/plsqlxmlrpc/. Allows to create web-service clients from within an oracle db without need for java.
As the phpxmlrpc lib I maintain does in fact support both xmlrpc and jsonrpc 1.0, it could be interesting for me to do the same in plsql land, and incorporate pljson as the json parser used for the jsonrpc.

The 'extras' packages is in fact NOT the extras dir present in the main zip file, but it can be downloaded as a separate zip from https://sourceforge.net/projects/phpxmlrpc/files/. That's why you could not find the emulated xmlrpc_encode_request() that you where looking for...

Since the import of .docx is so much better with this than with plain ooo, even at version 3.1.1, i wondered if the converter could be used to import files saved in doc format (from word 2007) and whether results could reasonably expected to be better... Currently the app refuses to open .doc files.
