I talked to monipol on IRC. Maybe jack will work on releasing latest VLC.
Anyway i just hacked the version to lib/vlc (ffmpeg and vlc 0.8).
I deleted the headers and changed the namespace to avoid people using it for new packages.
This is the wxwidgets version of vlc 0.8.6i media player. There will be only fix if need be but no extras / new tools using it.
VLC 0.8 is not so obsolete, this is...

Ok talked to monipol on IRC. I just performed a little customization to build in /lib/vlc.
And removed some files to avoid people using it outside vlc 0.8.
About ffmpeg 0.5, if thesin is busy, then I'll start working as soon as possible on the dependencies ( xvidcore, etc.... ).
That's all i can do at the moment. Let's meet on IRC / mail to organize that.

Built as -m --build-as-nobody, and merged the x86_64 stuffs in one file.

Should work on 10.4 or upper. Built and tested under 10.4 PowerPC.
I patched the new configure to bypass SDL errors.
Dependencies and flags are set, works well :-)
Checked and compiled with -m --build-as-maintainer.
