Unfortunately I am not supporting the plugin anymore as both SOBI2 and Jomsocial are versions ahead now and I am unaware of the changes... It was just something I needed for my work back then and once done I just shared it. But it's more than a year later now and I don't even remember...
So I really have no idea what might be causing the issue but never heard anyone reporting...
