I'm starting a open source project for providing an OPC XML-DA driver for Modbus. I'd like to get more information on these subjects.
The idea is writing support for the MODBUS protocol in C#, on top of the openDA project which implements the OPC XML-DA specifications.

Well, I'm beginning with Linux and MONO in my machine. "Hello World" in C# got OK, now trying to get it with the graphics libraries....
By the way, i'm counting on my good fellow Anderson to get things going! He'll help me with the "software engineering" stuff: the CVS management, testing, coding and so on. Welcome Anderson! :-)

Hello All
I've been studying the OPC and I'd like to take part on the development of a "cheap" solution for data acquisition in small industries and in the academic environment (laboratories, for example).
I've noticed the rise of XML as interfacing technology and now I would like to port some OPC solutions to open-source. My first try would be a OPC-DA server for Modbus, running...
