The proposed patch restructures the existing code to work with PHP5 with classes.
It should be easier to maintain thereafter.
Note that to use this patch, images must be moved to the 'images' subdirectory instead of staying in the same directory as the code.

It is indeed a pity, but the information on gtk.php.net is rather misleading: ask on the IRC channel or the mailing list which version to work with, and you'll receive the answer Php-gtk2. Or just browse the mailing list archive, and see what versions are discussed: it is constantly php-gtk2. php-gtk1 is indeed stable, in that it no longer evolves.

It would be nice if the IDE could support PHP-GTK2: 1.0.2, as supported in the latest release, has been obsoleted for about 1 year.
