YES!!!
I made the edits in that patch, recompiled "BIOS-bochs-latest"
(as included within kvm-75/bios), still also using the latest
gPXE, instead of the kvm distributed etherboot, and the f12 is
detected and I get much further into the install.

I could certainly alert the kvm / qemu people that this patch
should be included, if there isn't already a mechanism for...

I hope I haven't directed this bug incorrectly.
At the highest level, I am running QEMU, however,
this is early in the boot process, when the windows
loader program is running on the Bochs BIOS, no?
It's not a high level QEMU I/O problem, or is it?
I hope someone with this project will be able to
help direct the bug report elsewhere, and with more
insight that I can provide.

I find a RIS install of a virtual windows xp install
ALMOST works--it's just impossible to "press" the f12
button. (nor qemu ctl-alt-2 / sendkey f12)
Running:

This is a confirmantion of the bug report 1791448, but with kvm-39, fc-7 x86_64, 2.6.23.6 (kernel.org kernel). Again reverting back to kvm-33, fc-7 x86_64, 2.6.22.1 (kernel.org kernel), which I find usable for smp guests.
