Hi there, I've extended a bit the definition of the data transfer method using the same XML (actually SOAP)-like notation used so far. Is that ok Gregory with creating a new version integrating what I've done or should I submit into another format for you to collate feedback first? Let me know... Cheers.

Hi Greg, sorry for the delay but this period is quite hectic in Aussie Unis (exams and that sort of delicious things) ;-) I've started talking to John, and I studied the data transfer method...I'm quite confident that I might send a first draft to John in the weekend (I've already emailed him). We'll talk about it, and then try tu pull out a decent version from there. Cheers.

Sounds good to me! ;-) I'll try to contact John and see that we organize a plan asap. Thanks Gregory!

    >In short, I think the data format is more >important then the infrastructure, but some >sample implementation is still useful for demo >purposes Hi all, Erwin's statement summarizes my current point of view. We should work mainly on the data format, but at some point in time we'll need to provide some sample implementations/demos using specific DOMs of our choice. As I already...

Fabio Zambetta here, still interested in participating and available, of course ;-) From what I read in the post, these are the items that attracted me: Req 1 Data format specified Req 3 Data Transfer method specified I can work on either of them, depending on the need of this group. I agree very much on voting, too.

Hi Duncan, I'm only a newbie here but I'll post my opinion, anyway ;-) I know very well VRML/X3D having participated to many projects using them and teaching a Web3D course myself; moreover, I also know very well Easescript, because I teach another course on NWN modding (and I'm also working on some new stuff of mine using NWN as a testbed). I didn't know SEDRIS to be perfectly honest, but I...

Hi Tom, very pleased to meet you and yes...RMIT is a very place to be :-) I perused your web site in the mean time, and I found a lot of very interesting stuff ;-) I also used to be very interested in biota.org (my PhD supervisor is really into nature-inspired computing, and transmitted some of that interest to me), and so maybe I'll contact you some day to have an offline chat about that as...

Hi Ian, I'm very excited at the idea of working on this standard, and if you all I agree I might advertise here at RMIT (in the future) to see whether any of the Honours students or the postgrads are interested in working on implementing prototypes and/or proof-of-concepts demos that use our specs (whenever the committe thinks that they're complete enough). Re the off line chat...no worries...

  • A new member...

Hi all, my name is Fabio Zambetta and I'm a lecturer at RMIT University (Melbourne, Australia). I've just joined the working group, so I'll introduce myself ;-) At the moment I'm mainly teaching Games Studio 1 & 2, which are the main courses in RMIT's Games Degree that involves both the School of Computer Science (mine) and the School of Creative Media. Essentially I teach students to...
