Torsten, you have been added you as developer. Could you please send me a the new FOA version so I can have a look and then give you the go ahead to update the CVS. You can now access to the CVS both in read and write. Hope this helps, Fabio.

Hi, you are right the project has no activity for three years now. I still have interest in XSL-FO and I am still working on related technologies, but unfortunately I don't have too much time to continue FOA development. The real issue is that FOA failed to create a community that was able to take this prototype forward. Fabio.

  • Followup: RE: FOA - Handling large volume of data

Vaidy, FOA works with XML structures that can be repeated or not. If I want to style an XML containing Person,FName,LName I can do this just matching those three tags no matter how many are then present on the XML file. If you create with FOA an XSL-T that deal with 1 single instance of your repeated structure than you can easily extend it applying a for-each construct. Since FOA is just...

Hi Sean, limiting FOA to open only its Attribute Sets, as well as its own XSL-T stylesheet is dictated by the impossibility to map arbitrary XSL-T into a "brick" concept. FOA has the clear advantage to help XSL-T, for FO generation, to create their stylesheets using a GUI Engineering tool rather than an XSL-T editor which has the possibility to open all the different XSL-Ts but is...

  • Followup: RE: inflated table bricks

Hi Michael, I'd like to see your example because I think there is something wrong with it that could be related to a FOA bug. The strip-space is added by FOA to correctly execute the positioning for the cells inside the rows and I don't think could be responsible for the document grows, actually it should throw away space that is between the tags. Please feel free to send an e-mail with the...

  • Followup: RE: Insert text which is not included in the xml

Hi, there isn't such a method. I believe that FOA is more an FO authoring tool that a generic XSL-T editor. What you are suggesting is to create an XSL-T construct to add text to the XML file. You can always do this using a different tool and then apply FOA to style the content. What I believe could be interesting, for a next release is to add a sort of customisable Brick, in which you can...
