The messages below are my fault. I have tried an older version from synce with the ubunte 7.04, now I have updated it to 8.04, and the old libs remain on the machine (because they were installed without dpkg...).
I have simply deleted the old libs, and now everything is working fine. Sorry for disturbing...

If I connect my pda: everyting with network connection is OK:

Would it be possible to port the linalg utils to gpgpu cards like ati radeon or nvidia?

Both types of cards support now some programable interface for general calculations.
