OK. I figured it out. It has to do with directory level symbolic links.
It seems that if use a directory level symbolic link to access the content files, galleon gets all confused and the above symptoms manifest themselves.
If you configure the galleon with the true physical path of the directory that contains the content files, it works properly.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I shutdown galleon, deleted the database and those /tmp files and restarted it, but have the same symptoms.

Update. Rebooted both the TiVo and the Linux server, but to no avail. Still have the symptoms as described above.

Weirdest thing.
I've been running Galleon-2.5.2 on Gentoo Linux for quite some time now. I added some MPG files in a directory which Galleon was configured for GoBack sharing. This particular directory has worked fine before, I was just adding more MPG files.
When I select that Galleon share name on the TiVo, I get, as you would expect, the listing of the files to choose from. So I...

I have a large MPG file that plays on the TiVo just fine, it was in fact recorded by the TiVo to begin with.
However, if I have a symbolic link (ln -s) in the Galleon server's download directory to the actual MPG file, it shows up in the directory listing on the TiVo, but fails to download the file.

Building a gentoo system and had a devil of a time getting cleartext password working with the IMAP server.
I ended up with uw-imap server and Squirrelmail, and got it working. Noticed that the particular issues were not covered in the existing documentation and tought that I'd contribute for document inclusion.

A large file limit? Almost sounds like it could be an value storage problem with the file size perhaps?
The reason that I thought of this was when I was using the standard wget code and trying to download a DVD image for a Linux installation. Found out later that the standard wget was not using the largefile compilation option and code integer sizes.

OK, I've got more information about the large MPG file GoBack transfer problem.
1). I turned on debug logging using the GUI application and re-started the galleon service.
2). I initiated a transfer of a large MPG file from the GoBack menu selection.
3). I transfer started, and I started to watch the video.
4). When I reached the end of the video, it was not completed. In fact only...
