crash in gnomish mines around turn 20k

The following bug was reported on the Vulture's claw bug tracker ( http://github.com/clivecrous/vultures/issues#issue/5 ) but it looks like a Slash'EM problem: Happened about three times already, it just seems to crash at random. panic, Memory allocation failure

The following bug report was filed to Vulture's Claw but it looks to me like a Slash'EM problem. When going down stairs to a new level, Claw crashed. Recover.exe worked. However when trying to re-load saved game, paniclog says 0.0.7E7F3 20090626: panic Memory allocation failure; cannot get 4278190148 bytes.
