As the number of mails in the database grows, the performance when writing (sending replies, adding notes) drops dramatically. it can currently take 30 seconds to send a reply on our deployment.
We initially believed it to be related to the sending of mail, but the problem persistst even after replacing the mailhost with maildrophost. The problem also appears when adding notes.
Since...

if you do something the search form does not expect (
like entering two words not separated by a boolean
operator) an error message is printed on scren. The
form also loses all previously selected values and all
the data needs to be re-entered.
On such a complex and long form , this makes searching
very very cumbersome.

Search seems to be broken in 2.1
In the search form, at my.instance/Search
I check
- all accounts
- all users
- all status ( except spam )
- all priorities
- all categories
i leave from ( email ) empty
leave from ( name) empty
in text search i enter a SINGLE word wich i know is in several tickets.
The result is a page which says:

If i put a ticket on Hold, it used to re-open if new mails were received to
it. ( it did in 2.0.x )
Now, after upgrading to 2.1, it just sits there with its status as Hold.
Something fires because it gets marked as unread, but it never changes
state to 'open' again.
( I don't know if it is related , but occasionally new mails are received and
its corresponding ticket isnt...

In the "Change ticket details" panel,
Custom category fields ('Project' in my case) don't
have the current selction marked as selected. Thus
every time you edit a ticket, it reverts to the first
value in the list of options for the custom category.
This basically renders the custom options useless.

the flag indicating whether a ticket is read or unread is global to al users.
This makes it impossible to use the flag for knowing if you have read mail
or not, as someone else might just have browsed by it and inadvertedly
marked it as read.
two levels of solutions exist.
1) mark mails as unread when assigned
2) Make the read-flag linked to the current user with a separate table...

Firefox 2 rc1, MM svn version.
Sorting tickets in the seach-results view does not work. Clicking the
columns sets a small arrow-icon indicated that the results are soirted on
the right column, but all the results are listed in the same order still.
This works just fine in the normal results view.

/Tickets?key=assigned&value=geir
( the main list of tickets, for the users named geir)
gives all tickets assigned to geir
…
while
/Tickets?key=assigned&value=
( the main list of tickets with "all users" selected )
returns a page stating
"You currently have no tickets in this view."
For some reason it does not query for tickets from all users anymore.
This used to work in 2.0.x.
