Sorry folks, I just installed Gantt Project 2.0.1 on a Windows XP box. At the first try th eprogram hanged on the start splash screen and had to be aborted in the task manager. On second try, it started, but when I tried to add a task, nothing happened. Saving the project leads to a NullPointerException and a corrupt file that can't be processed any further.
So all I can do is add resources...

I am trying out sphinx 3-0.5 on a debian linux unstable system with
some automake versions and gcc 4.0 installed
To make it work:
in autogen.sh:
-change aclocal and automake to aclocal-1.7 and automake-1.7
if the system has both 1.4 and 1.7 versions installed and 1.4 is the
default. Should be parametrized until this debian automake version
madness is resolved sometime...

ok. when I go to the distributions main directory and start
./freemind.sh, it works.
so this may be related to bug #1074246...

now I copied the whole distribution into my users home account, so
access rights should be sufficient inside the distribution directory,
but it still does not work.
copied /etc/freemind/pattern.xml into ~/freemind, still much hard disk
action.
now I changed freemind.sh wrapping strace around the java command
and get LOADS of this...

Seems to be a problem with access control rights.
I unzipped the ditribution as root in /usr/local/freemind-0.8.0-RC2,
and then started the application from my user account.
I started it as root and it worked, but it does not work for the user account
afterwards.
BTW:
PLEASE, if you go pack a distribution, include a top level directory. It is

I have just installed FreeMind 0.8.0RC2 on a Debian unstable
using j2sdk 1.4.2_06/jre/bin, and the program is trying to start for
about 12 minutes now, doing lots of stuff on the harddisk.
I see the blue papillon logo, and my shell shows

i tried to follow the instructions to install the oe build environment.
my observations:
1. cross-2.95.3-arm.tar.bz2 has wandered to the archive folder on
the ftp site since the current gcc seems to be 3.something.
2. I have a very BAD feeling when I am forced to install a
commercial product and give my details and "SVM installation
plans" just to download a fucking...
