I'm listed as a developer for the "opde" project (user "domivogt"). Since I created the three project mailing lists I'm still listed as the list administrator and get an email with the subject "8 Opde-commits moderator request(s) waiting" every day (I have long lost the admin password).

The EWMH folks were mad about adding "critical" features; they never managed to drop their view centered around desktop environments. Thus, the features in the spec were intended to allow DEs to do their work.

Only very few applications are entitled to switch pages/vieports/desks or actively activate windows at all, namely pagers, taskbars...
