Okay, this is gonna look bad for anyone else reading it, but I've sussed it out now :)
If you set up the DDI's but have them ring a Ring Group, rather than an Extension, you can set the name in "CID Name Prefix" for the ring group. This then shows before the number on the phone!

I've been experimenting a bit with this, and thought I'd be clever and adjust the FROM_DID variable in ext-did, under extension_additional.
No dice. :(
I'm currently testing with an X100P, which obviously doesn't support DID notification, let alone CLID. The phones still show "Unknown"..
The console shows the variable being set and theres no errors, so where on earth does the...

Which phones are you using? I've found a way for the Grandstream 2000 phones to do attended transfer, using the phone rather than asterisk..

It's so far so good with our AAH experiment, just a couple of things to get figured out now :)
We've got a sort of managed office, where there are three seperate companies. We have a bunch of lines coming in and due to some overlap between the companies (ie theres a couple of people who will be answering for all companies) would like the incoming CLID to show something like "COMPANY1...

Just to throw a spanner in the works, AAH 2.0 works fine on our PowerEdge 2400 - using the PERC2/SI controller..
1.5 also worked fine, am yet to try 2.1 though.
