password malfunction at install

while installing wolfpack on older machine (generic tower) 2 40g western digital hdd 256mb ram 800MHz. during install(ISO) when password option came up (NOOB!)when trying to enter password cursor would drop from top to confirm field at first keystroke. Made several attempts same problem(only one time did this not happen:hitting space bar [tab] space bar) at any rate I am unable to log into...

I have an hp pavillion desk top 1310 I have a generic cd/dvd burner and a little freeware iso program called easyiso (I also have isobuster that I haven't installed because I can't afford it but I think I can use it once for free.
