I deleted ogmrip and all svn files from my disk, checked out trunk again, used autogen (which pointed out that I miss some dependencies) and built ogmrip again.
Now it works fine.
Thanks for your time.

I did that before and it didn't work too.

Well, there is this option "spell checking" at the subtitle tab, but it has no effect on my setup.
I hope that I don't miss a dependency or something.

I just wondered if there was an option in the past that allows one to enable spell checking by for SRT encoded subtitles?
I can't find such an option any longer. The result are heavy misspelled subtitles.
Thanks any help/hint.
BTW, I use the svn version and have tesseract + libtiff(-dev) installed.
No ocrad, gocr and no enchant(-dev)

I used Ifoedit (a windows freeware) when I had only VOB files but no ifo files etc. to create ifo files.
Maybe you should give that tool a try, I never used it with only one VOB.

Yep, sounds good to me.
As some people who use Xfce for example (e.g. Xubuntu users) don't know that OGMRip will also run on their DE.

Does OGMRip have Gnome dependencies, or why is it called "A DVD encoder for GNOME"?
Would be better to call it "A DVD ripper/encoder using GTK", doesn't it?.

Do you have a 64 bit system?
Does the error occur also with another codec when you use 5.1 sound?
Please try using ogg vorbis with 6 channels, and post your results.
