There has been some ongoing testing on MacOSx by Michael Walker.
Most of the problems are due to HTTP 1.1 not being fully supported as yet (default used by FireFox, etc.)
There was a problem using http://webstretch as the admin pages on OSx with Safari, as it tried to do a DNS lookup before submitting to the proxy. This has been fixed by allowing the user to switch to using the IP address...

Firefox defaults to using HTTP1.1 IE defaults to 1.0
1.1 is more complex but more efficient. Need to add more
support for HTTP1.1 (reusing sockets, 100 status, etc).
Problem looks like its prob due to HTTP1.1 support in both
browser and server.
Working on solution.
Thanks.

OK, Ive installed FireFox and noticed that webstretch is fairly slow compared to how it acts with IE. This is probably due to how each browser decides to queue requests and assign them to threads before rendering. I will be reworking webstretch to cope with this.

I just tried it on tomcats manager screen
(http://localhost:8080/manager/html if you have it installed).
With the proxy running, I get the pop-up box looping when I
give an incorrect username/password, which is what it usually
does. If I enter the correct username/password it works ok,
and I can continue using the proxy to investigate the newly
accessed...

I tested it on a system which I dont know the
username/password. It looped 3 times and then presented a
page saying Im not authorized. This was what usually
happens. I need to test it to make sure it works when a valid
username & password are entered.
If you know Java and would like to see what the code is doing
yourself, just email me. Cheers.

I take it this was with the newest version?
I will need to add alter the exception handling so that in
future it present the version number so I can check it myself.
Do this error occur on a certain web page, or does it occur
every time you submit a request? If its a certain web page,
could you attach a link.
Thanks for the post!

Do you have any examples on the web which I can visit to
recreate the problem? Otherwise I may try to set up an
example myself and test it. The system presently hasnt been
tested with different forms of authentication. I will look into it
as soon as I can. Thanks for the post!

Will aim to add at least some of the following soon...
* SSL support
* Ability to alter parameters from a list of possible test values (e.g. large buffers to test for overflows, parameters to try to break SQL, password breakers (SQL which may lead to a value always being true), etc.
* Cookie editor
* etc
You can click on the icon at the file release area to automatically have an...
