What's happening?

As have I :-) I've been on something else, and will be for awhile. I've got the project now though it looks like so I'll be able to make some updates. I've got it packaged with RPM and working with postgres right now. I don't like mysql so if you want to support it you're on your own there, I'll happily add it if you submit the deltas though. Jay.

  • Design Goals

I seem to have resolved my issue with creating a project so I can proceed. I've been thinking about where we could take this project. Currently it looks to me like the raw data from the weather station is stored in an array with an entry for each 'group'. (there's 16 of them) The wmr968 data is translated into the wx200 data and stored in that same array. All of the parsing is...

I don't think that's the problem. I couldn't get past the first screen in the creation process. I'm going to try it again to see if it was just a glitch.

Actually all I did with the database is to change the data type of one of fields in a table it was creating. The data type didn't exist and I filled in the one it actually ment. I'm planning on sticking with postgres though. I like the fact that it's full featured, and we use it at work so I know it scales.

It sounds to me like you're having problems with locking. That would cause only one program to listen at a time. Locking is normally the behavior you'd want, only one program should have a device opened at a time.

I've been unable to create a project. I've got a support request opened up against my problems. Haven't heard anything back from them yet though.

  • Project registration system issue

I'm trying to take over a moribund project, so I'm trying to create a new one of the same name like the documentation states. I can't get pas the first page, it keeps asking me for a project name, I keep giving it and it keeps going back to the same page asking for the name of the project. There are no error messages, just the stuck state machine. Feeling really dumb Jay.

Well, since no one objects I'll be filling out a form to re-open this project.

  • Followup: RE: Extra Sensors

I haven't looked at the code really closely yet, but isn't it strucutred to resemble the radio shack product it was originally written for? It looked to me like the person who put the wmr918 did a bunch of byte swaps to make it conform to the other machine. If that's the case I think it would be quite a bit cleaner to restructure the code to be a little more like a set of individual...

My understanding is that it's a client/server application. That means that many programs could be getting the data from it. At least I can run the gui program and a couple of those text programs and have it work. Oh, and I just got another temp sensor, so I'll be working on getting it into the program in a bit.
