I know MAME OS X does not generally work with Logitech's custom drivers, so I'd suggest uninstalling any custom drivers that Logitech gave you. Also, if you really want to "clean things out", remove the preferences:
~/Library/Preferences/net.mame.mameosx.plist
And the default config file:
~/Library/Application Support/MAME OS X/Config/default.cfg

I haven't heard of this before. Could be a core MAME bug, too. Sorry, I don't know what's going on. :/ Maybe ask on the forums, as they're more active:

I'm guessing you have some audio component called "Guitar Rig" that does not get along with MAME OS X:

Crashes for me, too. It looks like it may be an issue with baseline MAME. You may want to try on SDLMAME to see if you can replicate it.
