Now I can login, no problems, no changes on my end. It is really annoying how nobody (consuming entities) seems to standardize.

For all I know it is SF problem, by the way. SimpleID works fine with the other sites I use. I am just noting that worked at commit 165, if I remember well.

I have been using 0.7 SVN with SF, not problems. Updated to commit 168 and now I am getting "Could not verify your OpenID. Please try again" when trying to login. I also get the warning when SIMPLEID_VERIFY_RETURN_URL_USING_REALM is defined true.

No, I meant, some sites ask some optional request (like DOB, or gender). Before, if I remember correctly, I was given the choice of whether or not to send that optional information. I do not see that on 0.7.

Using 0.7 (SVN) here, and loving it! On 0.6.X, you are given the choice on whether or not to send more information than the consuming is requesting, or to deny certain information that is requested, but that it is optional. I have not seeing that on 0.7 (SVN). Is it because it is a work in progress and it will be added, or just a current feature (authorized what's requested automatically...

I do not think this is a SimpleID problem (or that never was). Closing.

conner_bw, what are you using on the consuming part of OpenID? I have enabled logging on my site as well (http://microid.be/). This is what I see (masked added to some hashes), with any OpenID enabled website (tried Facebook, ServerFault, willnorris.com, simonwillison.net, wikitravel.org, etc, to mention a few), I have tried, but sux0r:

I have added an entry on SimpleID (https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2843359&group_id=203264&atid=984893) with the issue.
It seems that if I remove the trailing slash on my SimpleID identity file, it will work fine on sux0r, whether I enter trailing slash or not. Still capitalization makes a difference on sux0r, while I can capitalize (for test sake) everywhere else and it...

It seems that if I modify my identity file to not include the trailing slash, then it will continue to work fine with all previous consuming sites, and with sux0r, whether I enter the URI with or without the trailing slash.
Still would love some explanation if anyone knows.

It seems there is a lack of consistency somewhere, and I am posting this here to find some clarification, more than anything else. I posted a bug for a SF package named sux0r, which involves OpenID and the developer seems to believe it is a problem at my end, SimpleID. The link to my bug trac is: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2843326&group_id=131752&atid=722155
