I'd like to ask if rlocate can't be merged in the kernel so we avoid the need to always reinstall the module. Wouldn't it be much easier? Thanks.
make -f scripts/Makefile.build obj=/usr/local/src/rlocate-0.5.6/src/rlocate-module
gcc -Wp,-MD,/usr/local/src/rlocate-0.5.6/src/rlocate-module/.rlocate.o.d -nostdinc -isystem /usr/local/lib/gcc/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/4.2.2/include -D__KERNEL__...

No error messages and no sound at all.

I'm using gcc 4.2.2... what gcc are you using? Just to be sure it's not a compiler bug...

Ok, but if you try with alsalib 1.0.15, does the sound output work? The alsalib provided by Ubuntu is the exact same library as the alsalib downloadable from the official alsa site? Or does it have patches applied?.

The problem is not with the compilation. I can compile with libasound2 1.0.14 and 1.0.15... the problem is that output doesn't work... very strange. :(.

Mumble 1.1.0 works perfectly with ALSA lib 1.0.13, but if I use 1.0.14 or 1.0.15 the sound output doesn't work (although sond input works). I'm using Linux 2.6.23. Thanks.

I have groups with more than 120.000 articles and web-news just fails for those groups, because probably the LISTGROUP command takes too long. Why not just replace it by the simpler GROUP command? Thanks.

k9copy 1.1.0 will only work if I choose k3b to burn. If I *unselect* the option "burn with k3b", it will finish with the following image (attached): Error - dvd burning.
Any hints? Thanks.

Hi. Don't know if it will help, but I solved removing -ftree-vectorize from my $CXXFLAGS... optimizing too much a C++ program can make it crash. Maybe you should review your CXXFLAGS...
