This issue is fixed with SVN revision #284.
Now screen resolutions are configurable through XML file, so if the new resolutions do not fit user requirements, he can add new ones.
Note: The screen is not resizable yet, but it is a big issue to be fixed (with a new (or patched) version of Allegro library.
