I'm glad it's fixed. But I have to disappoint you, I don't know a good offline registry editor, you might be able to find one on sourceforge though :)
Although this is a Windows project, I'm more of a Linux guy...

Hi,
As I also mentioned in the tracker item, you could try to put the userinit entry back into place using an offline registry editor from within another operating system. But I haven't used such a tool myself yet.
