The amount of buttons, while useful, can be daunting, and confusing to find the action I want. It'd be great if there were configurable mini-drop-down menus so the less-used options could be relegated there while the common ones could remain on the toolbar.

Firstly, it doesn't make much sense that the Table of
Contents menu item is under "Insert"; when you want to
update it, you have to go to Insert -> Table of
Contents -> Update. Perhaps it should be under "Tools".
Secondly, having it updatable via a right-click (as in
MS Word) would be very nice.
Thirdly, it should be able to remember what levels of
headings are included in the ToC so...

A big new update for Sparse, the HTML-based framework for writing CGI applications easily and quickly. Now, the generated forms output in fully degradable Ajax, meaning that if a user doesn't have Javascript available or if an error occurs, the regular functionality will still work. Documentation has also had a significant overhaul. If you haven't tried Sparse yet, now's the time!
