Here's one user's description:
OK; I'm running 10.3.3 and the app is called "Streamers"; my hard drive
is formatted as HFS+ with journaling.. The default setting in iCal is
Streamers.app if I change this by selecting Streamers directly no
problem. I presume ical just can't find/open Streamers.app...

I have received sporadic reports that iCal doesn't launch Streamers
when the time for a scheduled recording has arrived. When
scheduling a recording, Streamers creates an alarm in iCal to
launch Streamers.app. Several users have reported that by
manually specifying iCal to launch Streamers the issue is resolved.

Streamers refuses to launch if any of the apps it handles, e.g.,
Windows Media Player or RealPlayer, are not installed. This makes
it impossible effectively to support the new and the old versions of
RealPlayer in one executable. And it is annoying for users who
would rather not install WMP or Real. We need to support apps
without requiring them to be installed.

Once opened, the Library drawer cannot be closed by pressing
Close Library.

Streamers version 28 has been posted. This package now contains two folders, one containing Streamers for RealPlayer 10 and one containing Streamers for older versions of RealPlayer. RealPlayer 10 significantly changed the Applescript syntax for playing clips and getting the state of RealPlayer. This required a few changes to the Streamers code.
