With the help of guess-helper I found the correct configuration file for an old, (AMD K7 1Ghz) unsupported MB with AMI BIOS and SIS chipset. After tweaking with some duplicate entries in the config file I found the right combination, wakeup works without reboot. I left the original wrong lines commented out in the file.
