If the footer is too close to the paper edge, you're using the wrong paper size. The default is A4, which is somewhat longer and a bit narrower than Letter.
The Reports sub-system has been completely re-written.
We know that there are still LOADS of problems with HTML reports. We've been concentrating on PDF reports, and will tackle HTML and possibly TeX as time permits.

Not to my knowledge. Are you volunteering or just asking?
Be aware that doing a translation is a HUGE undertaking, and follow-up maintenance is a lot of work unless you keep close tabs on what's happening in the English language files.

The Common Surnames threshold is in the GEDCOM configuration. Look at the Display and Layout group, Common Surnames section.
Changes you make here won't be reflected in the list until you do another import. There might be other conditions under which a new list is produced, but I don't know what triggers this. It's been a very long time since I looked at this code.

Actually, there's always the possibility that the missing identifier will be created sometime in the future. When it's finally present, the missing link problem will go away.

The reason you are getting "m12" instead of the desired "M12" is because that's what you typed. PGV does not force any identifiers (person, family, source, media, note) to be upper or lower case. This is by design. I believe there's even some help text that explains this. Don't ask me where that explanation is.

Actually, it IS your error, since you didn't enter the date range correctly.
The extensive help text associated with dates clearly tells you that you that the year is required for all dates. It doesn't talk at all about any automatic correction to what you enter.
We won't be doing anything about this "error", so you will need to correct your database manually.
