While not quite the same symptoms, my 2.5.5 installation on Linux gets "confused" every once in a while - it will stop seeing new recordings on the TiVo's and stop automatic downloads. Restarting galleon or rebooting the machine doesn't always clear the problem. I mostly use the Linux version so I'm not sure what tabs you are talking about but my install occasionally gets confused and doesn't seem to update. I usually notice this when I realized it hasn't automatically downloaded a show.

It's been years since I got this working but I'm pretty darn sure you have to have the TiVo software installed on your PC AND you have to provide your media key which you can get by looking it up on your TiVo under settings.
