After installing the XMLPlugin, when I try to save the XML file in NotePad++ with the XMLPlugin it throws an exception and NotePad dies.
If I remove the plugin, then notepad can save the XML file with no problem.
I guess the XMLPlugin is just not working!

How do you associate other XML file types like XSLT or BPEL to be permanently treated as XML? I know you can pick the language from the language menu, but there was a way to permanently set the file types to be treated as a copmmon language like XML.

I just loaded R697 and it has seemed to work. At least it shows up in the plugin menu list.
Thank you for the response. I will typically avoid any alpha release, but I guess there is little choice.

I upgraded to Notepad++ 5.2 and all the plugins I had were removed from the plugin folder. This included the SearchInFiles and XMLTools plugins that I use very frequently. I tried downloading the most recent (not the alpha in XML tools) plugins and putting them in the plugin folder. The new Notepad declares them incompatible.
