I've figured out how to use OOoly with NeoOffice on my Mac, but I'm running into a barrier ... I see templates for creating tabs for fretted instruments, but none for the mountain/Appalachian/lap dulcimer. Three string courses on a diatonic fretboard, many different tunings but in my case D A d from the top down ... can anybody show me how to set this up?.

Just downloaded it to m G4 eMac this evening, will test-drive it soon. I'm a choral singer and mountain-dulcimer player so I expect to get a bit of mileage out of this with NeoOffice. Haven't had much joy using straight Lilypond.
