Where in the tutorial did you see this? It seems you looked at a tutorial for RSSOwl 1.x (maybe you can tell me from where you got there - its outdated and should not be accessible anymore unless you know the url).
In RSSOwl 2.0.x you can right click on a news and select "Share > Printfriendly", this is an online service that also allows to save as PDF.
You can always as as HTML using...

I have one idea how it could work in RSSOwl right now:
- subscribe to https://mail.google.com/mail/feed/atom?a
- subscribe to https://mail.google.com/mail/feed/atom?b
- enter nothing for the login dialog that pops up
- open preferences > passwords
- enter your user name and password for both feeds (with different credentials for your 2 accounts)
- reload both feeds

If you dont mind sending your credentials to Yahoo Pipe, I am quite sure you could create N pipes for each GMail account at pipes.yahoo.com to access as separate feeds in RSSOwl. Quite sure pipes can be set to be private too (and be accessible with your Yahoo account).

Nice, I did not even know such a feed would exist.
Yes, RSSOwl can only store one user/pw per feed. We have a feature request to support login credentials as part of the URL which would likely solve this, but it has not yet been implemented.

Please specify the VM that RSSOwl should use using the "-vm" argument, e.g. rssowl - vm , with that it should easily pick up the VM to start.

Yes, news filters are the way to go. You can automatically create these when you right click on a news with an attachment and select Attachments > Automate Download.
