    Do you calculate KB, MB, etc. on the base of 1024 or 1000? Correct would be 1000.

  • Comment: Zip / Unzip takes too long

    The bug has been detected during an acceptance test which is a form of black box test. The internals are of no interest and that's why the bug description is from an end user's point of view. Since the delay regularly occurs when the GUI is talking of compression stuff the bug description is completely correct. Cheers.

  • Comment: Zip / Unzip takes too long

    Without VCS: zip: 1:20min unzip: 0:41min Manually refreshing my workspace (all top level items / projects selected + F5) takes less than a second. I agree that it's very probably the checksum calculation that consumes a large amount of time. Still the zip/unzip problems remains.

    @kargor I was talking of zip AND unzip. You are right that when ".project" was displayed another 25 seconds passed. Those seconds are not part of the measured we made. So the whole process took even longer. @netcorps ZIP and UNZIP of 21.5 MB ON MAC OS X / FINDER file list creation: ~0:00 min zip: 0:03 min unzip: 0:02 min ON JVM / SAROS file list creation: 1:32 min.

  • Comment: No feedback when zipping

    On macs zipping 21MB takes 3 minutes. For the created zip (12MB) to unzip it takes another 30 seconds. If people wouldn't be connected via Skype or something equivalent you would wonder if something even happens.

    The window that display the invitation progress contains the project IDs in the form ID1=NAME1[ ,IDn=NAMEn]* Users should not be interested in the project's ID.

  • Unusual measures like MiB and KiB are used

    IEC prefixes (Ki, Bi, Ti, etc.) are quite uncommon and unknown to a large number of users. Correctly(!) using SI prefixed (K, B, T) is preferable.

  • Passed instead of remaining time during invitation

    The invited user is not presented with the remaining time but with the passed time. The invitee would expect the remaining time instead.
