  • Elevated windows are incorrectly considered hung

On vista onwards, if VW is running without elevation, any windows of an elevated process are considered hung by VW as its attempts to hide the window fail, VW should understand the concept of an elevated window and not consider them hung.

  • Win Menu -> Info fails for elevated windows

Nothing happens if you try to execute the VW Window Menu -> Info feature for a window with elevated privileges on Vista or Win7 (i.e. run as admin)

  • Followup: RE: Outlook 2007 switching takes 5+ seconds

The logs show 2 different problems, jimdavisjr on Win7 is unrelated to the Outlook 2007 problem encountered by jpage4500. I am currently testing a fix for the win7 problems... I do not know the cause of the outlook issue, seems very odd, I think an MS API call must be hanging. I will need more information on which and to find out why. jpage4500 - if I build a special version of VW would...

  • Log on in Win7 causes problems

If VW is set to start when a user logs in to Win7 the state of the taskbar is unreliable at the point at which VW is launched, this leads to one of two problems: a) A dialog opens telling the user the taskbar could not be found and functionality is disabled b) There is a long delay between desktop changing as the systray icon is not properly updated (caused by VW trying to recreate the icon).

But this is only true if you are using the mouse near the right hand side, if you use a hotkey to open the menu the mouse is to the left and the current order is the best so this would break as much as it fixes. However there is a further thing to consider, the majority of languages read left to right, so for the majority of people the most important column should be on the left so people see...

  • Followup: RE: Windows 7 x64 Issues

I've found that Win7 has changed the initialisation process when logging in, VW gets a taskbar created message at the start (which it hasn't before) and sometimes it is launched before the taskbar is fully created. Bit of a mess really. I have some fixes I'm currently testing - will hopefully create a test version soon, but I want to address the UAC issue too (see recent dev forum posting).

Can you please look at the recent dev forum post 'Help request with Vista/Win7 UAC support' (https://sourceforge.net/projects/virtuawin/forums/forum/811485/topic/3461969), any thoughts on this?.

  • Followup: RE: Window position below taskbar

I cannot reproduce this issue, what OS are you using and does this happen for all maximised windows or just one specific app? Can you please using VirtuaWin's Window Menu -> Info feature to get information on this window while in this state (you can cut 'n' paste the text in the info dialog into a forum post). Thanks.

How are you managing to disable these hotkeys? It sounds like they are not fully disabled.
