I am the original submitter. This doesn't seem to be in SVN yet.
the patch adds the buttons "Map, Satellite, Hybrid" buttons to the map shown in the edit coordinates screen,
this is very useful if you are editing coordinates for places where only a sat image is available.

Greg, my initial problem the tradition _is_ "Paternal", but didn't work as the
maiden name and the husbands name had different charsets (one of them was latin,
the other cyrillic, or...

while looking at the problem here: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4440130
I noticed that if I go from index.php to login.php and then again to login.php, then after logging in, I _am_ logged in but get the login prompt again.
This is all correct behaviour, as I came to the login page from the login page.
BUT: This _will_ confuse most users: they will see a login...

attached patch.
Sorry if I didn't express myself clear enough and you were talking about a different thing:
the total line when pressing on a letter in the indi list and getting a list of surnames, _is_ and _should_stay_ "total surnames".
The one you get when selecting a surname or using "skip surname list" is also "total surnames" but should be "total individuals". This is done by the...

I don't think this is true. If I select any letter in the indi list and then press on a single surname, it is very common to get a list with several individuals. Then you end up with let's say 10 indiviruals all having the same surname, but the end of the table saying "total surnames 10". This is simply wrong.
As Gerry pointed out, this can also be further affected by the fact that some...

I have to update the patch, as I just noticed that, in the indi list, if you press any of the letters, the count does respect the config option $SHOW_MARRIED_NAMES (as I wrote before), but apparently the one when you press "ALL" doesn't -- it always counted _with_ married names.
attached is an updated patch, which fixes the top-10-block and the ALL page in indi list to respect the setting...

This is a follow-up to the bug report 1760574 (See there comment posted by bistr-o-math on 2007-07-27 06:22)
here is basically the request:
Though, I would like to place a "feature request" along the lines: Could we have a configuration option "show_all_places_when_empty_filter" that could be used to show all places when the "find" page is opened in the first place (this is how I like it...
