Thank you, that fixed it!!!
It's working fine, but just so you know when I have the "always prompt before pasting this phrase" and then I type the abbreviation and I press escape to ignore the prompt, the system locks out all mouse input and eventually all keyboard input as well.

ok - I tried autokey -v. Autokey shows up in the System monitor. It does not show in the notification tray. Status is sleeping, waiting channel is do_poll.
The terminal shows nothing until I ctrl+C then it shows:

Hi, I'm running 9.04 so I was super excited to see .54.1 come out. I installed it from the PPA and but I couldn't get the abbreivations to work even after a reboot. I updated to .2 and Autokey won't launch. Update to 54.3 and it still won't launch. I uninstalled, compiled 54.3 from source and it still won't start. Any ideas?
What is the command line for logging?
Thanks - I can't...
