"-q 10" means 100% quality, but not "-s -q 10" where the quality is only an option for soft target. I've made a few tests myself and the output bitrate given by ogginfo has always been close to the specified bitrate.

From my point of view, theoraenc from theora-tools doesn't really exist as long as theora-tools has never been officialy released. Moreover, theoraenc from ogmrip has more fonctionalities (vp3 compatibility, soft target) than theoraenc from theora-tools.

Far better. I've commited a slightly modified version of your patch: ogmrip.pc now defines two more variables, profilesdir and pluginsdir that are used to determine where to install the profiles and plugins. I will perhaps also add a configure option to install the profiles and plugins in $HOME/.ogmrip.

I guess the problem is related to gvfs (the first warning). Is gvfsd installed ? If yes, is it started ?
BTW, the 2 critical warnings have been fixed in 0.13.3.

Ok, I've found the problem: you've got old include files that are not compatible with the latest svn versions of ogmrip. You should manually remove /usr/local/include/ogmrip, /usr/local/include/ogmjob and /usr/local/include/ogmdvd before reinstalling ogmrip.
You can, of course, disregard my previous post.

Except that $(libdir) from ogmrip and $(libdir) from ogmrip-oggz may be different. And if they are different, the plugins can be installed in a wrong directory. We should ensure that the plugins are installed in a valid directory.
