  • Nice!

Just found this. Downloaded and fiddled with my system to get it working. First impression is it looks very good. Can't wait to start using it. - B.

  • Sort Location List

Locations appear in the order added now, with the newest location at the top. It would be useful to sort them by Description 1 and then Description 2.

  • Sort Item List by Chosen Column

Items appear in the order added now, with the newest item at the top. There doesn't appear to be any way to sort them. A useful feature would be to allow the user to click on the column header and have the list sorted by that column.

  • Locations added with new items not in list drop-down.

    - Add a new item. - While adding a new item, create a new location. - Save the item. The new location will not appear in the location drop-down at the top of the list page. The location does appear on the locations page. No new location will appear in the list page drop-down until a new location is added in the locations screen.

  • Followup: RE: This looks exciting!

OK, it took me a year to get around to it, but I finally got it installed and working. It was a mistake in the environment.php file that I made. A missing "/" in the directory name. Didn't need Smarty installed, I just learned how to use it from a local directory. Pager is already installed. Looking Good!

  • Followup: RE: Initial startup problem

FIXED! The problem was as simple -- and as embarrassing -- as appending a slash to the path in the SITE_PATH definition. Put it there and it started working immediately. I feel foolish. Kenneth, I'm afraid that's your problem too. Looks very nice so far, Marco. Cheers! - Bill.

  • Comment: Exclude Well-Understood Questions.

Just an update: I continued to use it and passed my Extra exam a month later. I also used HamExam, which allowed me to remove well-understood questions by editing the XML file. I still think this modification would be a great addition to EggsHam.

  • Followup: RE: Initial startup problem

I'm stuck at the same point. The directory definitions from the print command in environment.php look correct, and my settings are just like the other two having this problem. Looks like a great application, can't wait to get it working! - Bill.

  • Exclude Well-Understood Questions.

I just used EggsHam during the last week or so to study for the Technician and General exams. I passed both in one sitting, and almost passed Extra. To accelerate a user's ability to study and learn the correct answers, I think it would be very valuable to exclude questions the user already positively knows the answer too. I used EggsHam to repeatedly take the General exam, and found it...

  • This looks exciting!

This looks like what I have been struggling to find for some time: A detailed, web-based, GPL licensed home inventory program. So far, installation has been difficult. The program itself wasn't tough, but the database and prerequisites have been. I'm on a shared server that uses cPanel, and doesn't have SSH access. The database and user have to be set up using the cPanel tool, and I'm...
