I have many audio cds and sometimes I like to stream some tracks directly from cd.
My current approach is to use an external player such as xmms or rythmbox and connect it through jackd to idjc on the aux port.
It works but arises a few issues:
- can't use the crossfader
- no listen on/off button (can do that on jackd side but it was better to have all buttons on the same window)

I'm using 0.7.10.
I just found out now that there hasbeen 2 newer releases meanwhile... I red the changelog, didn't see anything that could be related to this, but I've downloaded the latest version and I'll compile it soon.

I was wondering... how do other idjc users do if they want to stream from audio cd with idjc?
I have a lot of audio cds and ripping all them would be very time and harddisk-space consuming... So sometimes it would be handy to be able to stream directly from a cd, without having to rip it before...

When I'm streaming, from one playlist, sometimes i like to preview some song on the other playlist. For that i will use the horizontal slider on top of the playlist and move it forward and backward while playing. When moving the slider sometimes idjc freezes. I will have to kill and restart it.

As I suspected the problem was jack related... I was getting some xruns. My first approach was to try to run jack with realtime options, but that got me into other issues.
The solution I found was running jackd with -s option.
