This isn't WebDAV specific, it would be nice if Gallery could always ignore files like this. I just had a few bogus files created when doing a local server upload.

I'm experiencing the same problem. Created a tcpflow dump of a simple upload transaction which is available here:
www.typo.nl/misc/gallery2-osx-webdav.txt
Note that I have .DS_store files switched of on WebDAV mounts ( http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=2005070300463515 )

In the old days you could hit Download, right click on
the link at the top of the page, select 'copy link' and
paste that into a terminal screen with something like:
wget
http://surfnet.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/phpmyadmin/phpMyAdmin-2.8.1.tar.bz2
95% of the time I don't want to download a file from SF
to my machine but I need it on one of my servers.

No stability problem here yet (with a very recent CVS
build). CVS seems to be quite a bit faster than 0.8.2, you
notice this immediately after you've started it up, the
console is just much more responsive. Characters that you
type show up on your screen almost instantly. It's not as
fast as Terminal.app but it's getting there :)
