Hi anjet I'm pretty sure the installed driver 7.14.0011.1147 is not suitable. Try the drivers from intel and see how you get on. Yo can always revert if it does not work. Barry.

The log file shows stops where the gui is to be created. That seems to point to an unsatisfactory video driver. What is your video display driver? Have you updated it yet? Barry.

  • Followup: RE: The sun is NOT at the ecliptic line!

Hi amr2009 That is interesting to see. 4000 years ago the plane of the eqilptic was certainly different to what it is now. But whether the calculation of the sun and moon is correct or the position of the eclipic line is incorrect will depend on where the data used by Stellarium is derived from. Calculation of things that happen more than a few hundred years forward or past could be out by...

  • Followup: RE: Are viewport angle a half angle or whole

Hi Kevin What version of stellarium are you using If I remember rightlly the ocular module released with version 0.10.2 had an error that calculated the wrong size viewport by a factor of two. An updated module was compiled but does not work with the 0.10.2 release. It only works with a patch using a compiled later version of the svn code. The Stellarium source code has had massive changes...

  • Followup: RE: Strange Asterism

Hi Firstly I can't see you screen shot without logging in. However I have located the objects and they are "stars" at magnitudes from 13 to 15. A check on the DSS plates shows nothing so I expect it is an error in the star database. As most of the "stars" have the same RA they possiblly have the wrong RA in the database. There are other similar articacts in the database but it needs...

  • Followup: RE: Telescope Control on Mac OS X

Hi Brian I don't know much about Mac's however the procedure of controlling a telescope should be similar If you have successfully compiled the server program there should be an executable program in the src directory named telescopeservernexstar.??? The telescope I assume is connected by RS232 so you will need a cable that connects your computer RS232 port to the telescope. If the...
