Your plans for 3 sound pretty amazing. I don't think it would make MSP too gamey at all. It's a simulation where the people are the most important aspect, so being able to see them as they go about their activities would add greatly to the sim I'm sure!
Although 3d is 'where it's at' and would doubtless have fantastic potential, I also think a 2d overhead view would also add...

I think your list for 2.86 looks good. The only things I could think of to add would be;
Allow building construction missions to be started from the settlement window contruction tab
Allow the user to query mineral reports from explored sites in the navigator window.
Make the map options for displaying minerals, zoom, day/night elements, etc saved on exit

I didn't get the chance to try the beta too much as I was moving house.. but I've now tried the final release for a while and have enjoyed it very much.
Could you clarify the mining situation. I can see the concentrations on the map, but from reading previous forum posts are the settlers checking concentration levels during the exploration missions, at the waypoints? If so, is...

Hi Scott,
It's great to hear about progress in 2.85. It will be marvellous to be able to build up the settlements over time. Is there an option planned to allow the user to choose which buildings to construct?
As the settlements increase in size would it be worth adding an option of more settlers being brought in with the resupply from earth? Otherwise some of the smaller settlements...
